How a Long-Lost Perfume Got a Second Life After 150 Years Underwater

As much as we try to look forward and create anew, sometimes perfumers have a good reason to dive into the past. Quite literally ! To a shipwreck in Bermuda containing an intact bottle of perfume from the 19th century! Here is the story of this epic research back into what a 1864 Victorian perfume smelled like. Our Master Perfumer Jean Claude Delville, then at another company, had the privilege to work with the divers as well as to use state of the art technologies to reconstitute this piece of history.
