Narcissus
A bulbous plant belonging to the family “Narcissus Poeticus,” of the amaryllis family, also known as Jonquil. The exact origin is unknown, but it is believed to have originated in Persia and traveled to China through the Silk Road and is most often associated with the Ancient Greek myth of Narcissus. Narcissus is an extremely rare and expensive ingredient in perfumery, with 500 kg of flowers required to produce just 1 kg of concrete by solvent extraction, and three times as much required to get 1 kg of absolute. The scent of the absolute is floral (mimosa with a tuberose facet) with green-leafy nuances.
