Ylang Ylang

Ylang Ylang is a tropical flower from a tree called “Cananga Odorata”, which is native to the rainforests of tropical Asian countries, primarily Indonesia, where the flowers are spread on the beds of newly married couples. To obtain 1 kg of essential oil, about 60 kg of flowers need to be crushed and processed through steam distillation. The odor profile is rich, heady floral, slightly spicy-fruity, banana-toned and has jasmine and wintergreen facets that make it smell medicinal for some. It ends on a sensuous animalic note that gives it a lot of depth.
