Rose
Two varieties of roses are found in perfumery: the Centifolia, or May Rose, grown only in Grasse and the Damascena, or Bulgarian Rose Otto, widely grown in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Called “the Queen of Flowers,” the rose grows on bushes that live up to 30 years. The early morning harvest is very labor-intensive and 10,000 kg of rose flowers are needed to obtain just 1 kg of the coveted oil. The scent is complex and multi-faceted with green notes, reminiscent of artichokes for some, and fruity, citrusy (verbena-like), fresh floral geranium and violet notes. For those who would love to smell like a thousand rose blossoms, we invite you to explore Rose Rage.
